The aim of the course:
The course aims providing knowledge to students about formation of soils, basic properties of soils, classificaton of soils, compaction of soils, permeability of soils, seepage in soils, relevant soil tests and determination of vertical stresses by soil weight and finite surface loads

Contents of the Course
Formation of soils, Basic physical properties of soils, Classification of soils: Particle size distribution (granulometric curve), consistency limits, Classification systems, Compaction, Soil water and effective stress, Permeability of soils, Seepage in soil, Vertical stress distribution in soil.
