The aim of this course is to get the ability of material selection and qualification

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : It can classify the materials.2,3,7,81
LO - 2 : Learns surface hardening and heat treating2,51
LO - 3 : It can compare the elastic and plastic deformation characteristics of materials.
LO - 4 : It can heat the material to the desired temperature and select suitable quenching media.
LO - 5 : Define types of fracture according to fracture surfaces.
LO - 6 : He can use the devices and interpret the test results.

Contents of the Course
S-N diagram after fatigue test, physical properties of materials used in the technical field, physical properties of materials, elasticity, plastic deformation, hardness measurement methods, impact test and fracture energy, tensile test and tension elongation curve obtained after fatigue test.
