The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students with the ability of understanding basic computer architectures and designing basic computer and its instruction sets.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : learn basic components of computer7,91,
LO - 2 : learn to setup a basic computer by using these basic elements7,91,
LO - 3 : learn microprogramming of this basic computer7,91,

Contents of the Course
Basic Computer Circuits, Central Processing Unit: Instruction Set, Addressing, Coding, Indexing, ALU, Hardware and Microprogramming Operation, Memory Types: Dynamic and Static Memories, RAM, ROM, PROM, EPROM, EEPROM, Cache Memory, Input-Output Structures, Parallel and Serial Ports (LPT, COM) , Interrupt, Micro processor, Extended Computer Architectures
