The aim of the course:
This course aims to gain the capabilities of the basic manufacturing processes by using drill, turning, milling and grinding.

Contents of the Course
With hand tools to do basic manufacturing operations. To teach drilling process, turning process, milling process and grinding process.

 Week 2Material-specific cutting tools, grinding stone benches, drill grinding.
 Week 3Drill types, drill tool included angles, drilling operation sequence, calculation of rotation speed.
 Week 4Reamer, tap and die types, screw threaded gauges, operation sequence of threading by tap and die.
 Week 5Types of lathe machines, lathe parts, turning types, chuck, cutting tools.
 Week 6Lathe cutting tool types, center drill, calculation of rotation speed, operation sequence of facing and cylindrical turning.
 Week 7Surface roughness, slot cutting tool types, and angels.
 Week 8Taper turning methods.
 Week 9A written midterm exam
 Week 10Drill types, principles of drilling, knurl types.
 Week 11Screw types, screw gauge, screw tool types.
 Week 12Reaming types
 Week 13Milling benches, face milling cutters, cutting depth and feed rate calculation, aspects of milling.
 Week 14Types of slot and pocket milling cutters, simple division apparatus at milling.
 Week 15Grinding machines, grinding wheels' types and features.
