The aim of the course:
To learn basic principles about enrichment of trace elements
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Students will learn a lot of information about enrichment of the elements.
LO - 2 : Students will be able to solve the problems they encounter in trace element analysis
LO - 3 : Students will be able to make elemental analysis that can not be directly assigned
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Definition of trace elements, problems encountered in direct determination of trace elements, advantages of enrichment or preconcentration, preconcentration methods ( Evaporation, Distillation, Precipitation and co-precipitation, Liquid and solid liquid extraction, Ion exchange, Cementation and electrochemical enrichment, Centrifugation, Flotation, Filtration, Selective Dissolving, Controlled Crystallization ) method selection regarding on analyte to enrich, selection of enrichment method conform to analysis method to be applied after enrichment
