The aim of the course:
To produce base images for many Geographical Information Systems (GIS) applications with remotely sensed images.

Principles of remote sensing, Atmospheric and geometric correction in remotely sensed images, Image interpretation techniques, Land cover and Land use concepts and their relationship with GIS, Producing of thematic maps for GIS using satellite images, Integration of vector and raster data in ERDAS IMAGINE software, Processing the remotely sensed images using the Spatial analyst and Geo-statistical analyst toolboxes of ArcGIS, Image classification, Applications on change detection and image fusion techniques
