The aim of the course:
1. make a comment on Frank-Hertz experiment. 1.1 know the energy levels of an atom. 1.2. know the quantum concept and the quantum nature of the energy levels of an atom. 1.3. calculate wave lenght of the radiation for Hg. 1.4.comment on the results of an experiment. 2. make a comment on the experiment Balmer series for Hydrogen. 2.1. calculate the wavelength of the first four lines for Balmer series. 2.2. show Balmer series by drawing the energy leves of the hydrogen atom. 2.3. calculate the energy of the photon for Balmer series of the hydrogen atom. 2.4. define the terms of the ground state energy, the first excited state energy and the ionization energy. 2.5. comment on the results of an experiment. 3. comment on Milikan oil drop experiment. 3.1 know the quantized nature of the electric charge. 3.2. calculate the value for the electric charge. 3.3. investigate the motion of an electron under the electric field. 3.4. comment on the results of an experiment. 4. make a comment on the photoelectric effect experiment. 4.1. understand the importance of photoelectric effect for Quantum physics. 4.2. set up the experiment and perform the experiment. 4.3. know the concept of photon and explaind the photoelectric effect. 4.4. understand why the wave model cant not explain the photoelectric effect. 4.5. comment on the results of an experiment. 5. comment on the experiment on e/m. 5.1. understand the importance of e/m in physics. 5.2 set up the experiment and perform the experiment 5
