The aim of the course:
Learning the structures, rings and functional groups that are mostly involved in drug molecules.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Recognize cyclic/alicyclic structures and functional groups in the structures of drug molecules.11,
LO - 2 : Can realize the molecular drawings of the compounds given IUPAC nomenclature and the proper nomenclature of the compounds given molecular drawings.11,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

Contents of the Course
Information about functional groups, heterocyclic rings, condensed structures, bicyclo and spiro structures will be given on sample drug molecules, nomenclature of these compounds according to IUPAC rules and molecular drawings will be realized.
