The aim of the course:
The aims of the course is to improve the studens knowledge about modern biology and emphasize the importance of the modern biology for tooth health and diseases.

Contents of the Course
Introduction of medical biology and genetics. Cell Biology. The cell structure and functions. Types of the cells. Chemical structures of the cell and biomolecules. Molecular organization and ultrastructures of the cell. Cell metabolism and energy flow. Introduction of medical genetics. Structur and molecular organization of genetic material. Molecular organization and structure of DNA. DNA replication. Gen regulation and protein synthesis. Control of gene functions. Mechanism of mutation and diseases. DNA repair mechanis. Genetic factors in disease ethiology. Cytogenetics. Otosomal and gonosomal rearangement. Biochemical and molecular bases of the genetic diseases. Metabolic diseases. Prenatal diagnosis. Cancer genetics. Bioengineering. Recombinant DNA tecnology, diagnosis and theraphy of diseases.
