The aim of the course:
nervous system physiological anatomical recall, drugs used in the nervous system synthesis, structure-activity metabolism reactions, classification. This course is designed to provide the students with a general knowledge on central anesthesia, sedatives and hypnotics, tranquilizers, neuroleptics, anticonvulsant drugs, centrally acting muscle relaxant drugs and analgesic drugs and their classification, synthesis reactions, structure-activity relationships and metabolites. * lab .: provides basic concepts on the different methods used in the quantitative analysis of drugs. It is also expected that learners will learn how to apply the quantitative method used in drug analysis.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : classification of drugs acting on autonomous nervous system. 3,4,5,91,3,4,
LO - 2 : analyse the structure-activity relationships of drugs acting on central nervous system. 3,4,5,91,4,5,
LO - 3 : analyse the synthesis of drugs acting on central nervous system.3,4,5,91,4,5,
LO - 4 : analyse the pharmacological activity of drugs acting on central nervous system.3,4,5,91,4,5,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
