The aim of the course:
Microscopic and macroscopic analysis of medicinal plants; Diagnosis of carbohydrate derivatives; identification of primary and secondary metabolites; To perform heterosite recognition reactions and recognize drugs carrying the structures.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Will be able to determine the necessary conditions for growing, collecting and storing natural materials to be used as pharmaceutical raw materials.1,2,4
LO - 2 : Will be able to apply the necessary methods to determine the quality control of natural source pharmaceutical raw materials and their compliance with standards.1,2,4
LO - 3 : Will be able to interpret and diagnose pharmaceutical raw materials in sugar moieties and heteroside structures.1,2,4

Contents of the Course
The course covers the definitions, physical and chemical properties, separation methods, diagnostic reactions, qualitative and quantitative analysis of primary (glucides, lipids, amino acids, peptides, proteins and enzymes) and secondary metabolism products (phenylpropane derivatives; coumarin, flavonoids, anthranoids, tannins, etc.). Methods, biological activities, drugs rich in these substances, ways of use and purposes among the public are given.
