The aim of the course:
Extensive information will be given about the basics, types and applications of plant cell and tissue culture, and theoretical information will be given on how it can be used in secondary metabolite production, and the advantages and disadvantages of the subject in this field will be discussed.

Contents of the Course
Definition of plant tissue culture, application areas, requirements of tissue culture laboratory (medium and culture conditions, sterilization techniques), tissue culture types (callus, cell suspension, anther/microspore, protoplast, embryo, meristem), in vitro plant regeneration methods (organogenesis, somatic embryogenesis), secondary metabolite production (basic principles, necessary conditions, economic importance), use and importance of bioreactors, summary of current studies are given.
