Within the scope of the Pharmaceutical Microbiology application course, information is given on microbiology laboratory working principles, biosafety rules, tools and equipment used in the laboratory, sterilization and disinfection protocols. In the lessons, microscope types and usage, introduction of media used in the production of bacteria, preparation of media for bacterial culture, bacterial inoculation methods and introduction of bacterial colonies and application of gram staining method. are tought. Isolation and identification of bacteria, evaluation of antibiotic activity tests are explained in detail. Virus cultivation methods, experiental animal usage procedures and rules are explained. The use of bioinformatics in pahamaceutical microbiology is explained. Microbiological control of pharmaceutical products, antimicrobial activity of synthesized compounds and herbal products are shown. |
