The aim of the course:
1. To masters and chief officers on merchant vessel, According to STCW-78 revision 1995 about maritime transportation, international rules, codes , 2. According to the rules, plans, recommendations and activities, 3. According to the rules, loading and unloading operations, To give knowledge about them.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Planning safety load, stowage and protection of cargoes, watch keeping on discharging during sailing
LO - 2 : Cargoes and cargo operations to effect trim and stability
LO - 3 : Stability and trim diagrams and stress calculations
LO - 4 : Safety loading, unloading operations
LO - 5 : Tankers and tanker operations
LO - 6 : Carrying dangerous, risky and destructive goods

Contents of the Course
Planning safety load, stowage and protection of cargoes watch keeping on discharging during sailing . Regarding international regulations codes and standards to apply safe handling of cargoes, stowage,protection and carrying. Cargoes and cargo operations to effect trim and stability. Stability and trim diagrams and stress callulation equipment. On board, cargoes stowage, cargo handling gear and lashing securing equipment. Timber deck cargoes. Receiving tallying and deliver procedures of cargo. Cargo watch keeping during sailing. Applicable requirements to cargo handling gear. Maintenance of hatch covers. Safety loading / unloading operations. Tankers and tanker operations, ISGOTT . Carrying dangerous, risky and destructive goods. IMO regulations of grain bulk cargo.
