The aim of the course:
Knowing the educational technologies for subject field education. Using the technological tools for the specific area. Developing original materials for certain topics.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : know the educational technologies for subject field education 3,51,5
LO - 2 : explain the importance of Information and Communication Technologies in the process of communication2,3,5,61,5
LO - 3 : develop to design original materials for certain topics and improve them3,51,5
LO - 4 : gain the knowledge and ability of how and where to use the developed materials in teaching courses3,51,5

Contents of the Course
Some concepts related to instructional technology; properties of various instructional technology; placement and use of instructional technology in teaching process; the determination of technological needs of school or classroom; making suitable technological plan and its management; one and two dimensional material development via instructional technology; the development of teaching tools (worksheets, activity design, overhead transparent, slides, visual aids (VCD, DVD) , computer based tools) , examination of educational software; evaluation of teaching tool with different quality; internet and distance learning, principles of visual design, the investigation of effectiveness of teaching materials, the circumstances of using teaching materials in Turkey and the world.

 Week 2Characteristics of modern instructional technologies (IT), place and the use of IT in the process of teaching.
 Week 3Identifying the technolgy needs of school and the classroom,technology planning and its applications, the level of the use of IT in Turkey and in the world.
 Week 4Visual design elements and principles, planning development of two - three dimentional teaching materials through technology.
 Week 5Factors affecting teachers' selection of teaching-and learning materials.
 Week 6Development of teaching materials (concept maps, cognitive maps, work-sheets, activity design, over-head transparancies, slides, visual media (VCD, DVD)materials, computer based mateials)
 Week 7Evaluation of educational software, and theoretical information about evaluation of various teaching materials.
 Week 8Mid-term exam
 Week 9The use of internet in education, and benefits of distance education
 Week 10Developing overhead transparancies and presentations
 Week 11Discussion and evaluations of student developed and presented overhead transparancies
 Week 12Designing and developing work-sheets, two - three dimensional teaching and learning materials and presentations.
 Week 13Evaluations and discussions about student developed and presented (work-sheets, two - three dimensional)teaching and learning materials
 Week 14Development of computer based teaching materials (power-point, movie maker etc) and presentation.
