The aim of the course:
Analysis of the geodetic data with statistical methods and interpretation of the results

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : comprehend the difference of accuracy and sensitivity to understand that every measurement is loaded with errors.1,21
LO - 2 : vill be able to examine whether the data is in normal distribution.1,2,41,3
LO - 3 : will be able to test the model hypothesis, the incompatible dimensions test, the significance test of the unknown, and the model expansion parameters.1,21
LO - 4 : calculate the sensitivity and confidence criteria1,21,3
LO - 5 : write code in Matlab environment for statistical analysis of geodetic data1,2,4
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

Contents of the Course
Geodetic data, error-correction, accuracy-sensitivity; Normal distribution, Test statistics (chi-square Distribution, F- Distribution, t-distribution); Examining whether the data are in normal distribution; Hypothesis tests, Type 1 and Type 2 errors; Test of model hypothesis, incompatible dimensions test; Significance test of the unknown; significance testing of model expansion parameters; Sensitivity criteria (mean error of absolute values, confidence intervals, point position error, error ellipse, etc.); Reliability criteria (redundanz share, internal and external trust criteria); Comparison of the mean values of different and equal measures of standard deviations; Examining whether two, three or more experimental standard deviations are equivalent
