Introduction; Lithosphere, astenosphere, crust, mantle; Geologic properties of plate boundaries; Seismic properties; Divergent plate boundaries; Oceanic ridges, ophiolite and ophiolitic mélanges; Continental rifts; Evolution of passive continental margins; Convergent plate boundaries; Island arcs, structure and types of island arcs, magmatic arc , volcanic arc; Transform plate boundaries; Transform faults and marks of plate motions; Plate Tectonics and orogenic belts; General properties of orogenic belts; Origin of orogens; Non-collisional orogenic belts; collisional orogenic belts; Displaced terrains and mountain building; Driving mechanism of mountain building. |
