The aim of the course:
This course focuses on ethics in information technologies. This course also introduces the ethics as the study of moral, legal, and social issues involving information technologies. In this respect, the impact of the information technologies on our social, legal, and moral systems, and evaluation of the social policies and laws framed in response to issues generated by the development and use of information technologies will be given in this course.

Contents of the Course
Introduction to Ethics and Information technologies; ethical values and concepts, the structure of ethical theories. Professional ethics and responsibility. Security and networks ethics. Privacy and internet mediums, Privacy and security. Intellectual property and ethical values. Copyright and patent protection schemes, copyright and professional responsibility, and license agreements. Security Issues; Hacking vs. Cracking. Jurisdictional problems in internet and information mediums. Internets and crimes, and criminals. Electronic trade. Entrepreneurship, innovativeness, awareness of sustainable development and ethics.
