The aim of the course:
This course considers a variety of analytical means for understanding texts used in the classroom and their implications for educational practice. We will consider methods of analyzing content, linguistic form and its function, genre and text organization, rhetoric, and the role of texts within foreign language teaching/learning

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Step 1. Analysis of the text: What is the author's main point?, What is the author's purpose?, Who is the author's intended audience? Step 2. Evaluation of the text: Is the argument logical?, Is the text well-organized, clear, and easy to read?Step 3. Plan and write your critique: Students will first need to identify and explain the author's ideas. Include specific passages that support your description of the author's point of view.
