Contents of the Course
Gingival inflammation development of periodontal diseases. Bone destruction patterns. Identification of periodontal pathogenesis and the factors affecting the pathogenesis. Role of the bacterial plaque on periodontal pathogenesis. Cells of immunity and inflammation (mast cells, dermal dendrocytes, peripheral dendritic cells, neutrophills and monocytes/macrophages, lymphocytes, T cells, B cells, NK cells), complement, leukocytes functions. Immunoglobulines, cytokines and enzymatic mechanisms (Matrix metalloproteinases). The effects of genetic and systemic risk factors on periodontal pathogenesis ( systemics disorders, smoke, stress, medicines, nutrition). The effects of local risk factors on periodontal pathogenesis (occlusal travma, parafunctions, mechanic and chemical stimulations). Immun responses ( spesific and non specific immun responses). Connective tissue and bone metabolism. Gingival inflammation (The Initial lesion, The Early lesion, The Established lesion, The Advanced lesion ) .
