The properties of gases: the states of gases, the gas laws, ideal gases, kinetic theory.The first Law : basic concepts, work, heat and energy, internal energy, expansion work, enthalpy, The Second law: entropy, dispersal of energy, entropy changes accompanying specific process. The third law of thermodynamics. Gibbs energy. Physical transformations of pure substances: phase diagrams, the stabilities of phases, phase boundaries.
