The aim of the course:
The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the endocrine system and endogenous autacoids, and to explain the mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, contraindications, and adverse effects of drugs that affect these systems.

Contents of the Course
An introduction to the pharmacology of the endocrine system; the physiology of thyroid hormones (T3, T4, TSH) and the mechanisms of action of thyroid medications; hormones regulating calcium and phosphorus metabolism (parathyroid hormone, calcitonin, vitamin D) and calciotropic drugs; the pharmacology of pancreatic hormones (insulin, glucagon) and antidiabetic drugs; the pharmacological properties of adrenal cortex hormones (ACTH, glucocorticoids, mineralocorticoids) and their acting drugs; the mechanisms of action, therapeutic uses, and side effects of gonadal hormones (estrogen, progestin, androgens) and related drugs; and the pharmacological effects of autacoids and other regulatory compounds related to the endocrine system. The course covers the holistic functioning of the endocrine system, hormonal regulation mechanisms, and the clinical outcomes of pharmacological interventions.
