Contents of the Course
This course focuses on hands-on instruction in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software used in landscape architecture for spatial analysis and decision-support processes. The course covers GIS interfaces, project setup, data management, vector and raster processing, and the practical application of coordinate systems and projections within software environments. Students develop core software skills such as digitizing, editing, attribute table management, spatial querying, and cartographic map production. Terrain modeling, slope and aspect calculations, drainage analysis, viewshed analysis, and site suitability assessments are carried out directly through GIS software tools.
