The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to enable students to understand the basic concepts and theories of local governments and to explain and follow current debates on local governments.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Can explain the basic concepts in the field of local governments.
PO - 2 : Can analyze the development of local governments comparatively.
PO - 3 : Can follow current debates in the field of local governments.

Contents of the Course
Local, city, local governments as a concept; the development of local governments in Turkey and in the world, the comparison of local governments, local government problems, current debates constitute the content of this course.
