The aim of the course:
The elements of design and principles of design, visual communication and perception on visual arts, connection with shape between ground , space, form and geometry, space in architecture, to make on the issues which content design principles and design elements, to development of the perception of two and three dimensional organization in different media are the main objectives of the course. By giving basics of design, design principles and elements, it aims to enhance the creativity of the student by practical applications. Basic concepts , which can be used during the life of profession, will be described to the students with some practical Works and discussion.

Contents of the Course
Basic Design Elements According to Gestalt Theory; Point, Line, Shape, Measure, Proportion, Direction, Pattern, Color, Value elements and applications ofthese concepts. Principles of Visual Perception; Visual Communication and Visual Perception: Figure-Ground Articulation, Proximity Principle, Common Fate Principle, Similarity Principle, Continuity Principle, Closure Principle, Good Gestalt Principle and applications of these concepts. Basic Design Principles According to Gestalt Theory; Repetition, Harmony, Contrast, Hierarchy, Dominance, Balance, Unity and applications of these concepts.

 Week 4Processing of form-form subjects from design elements. Application.
 Week 5Handling of direction-measurement-range subjects from design elements. Application.
 Week 6Processing the subject of texture from design elements. Application.
 Week 7Presenting and practicing value-color; warm-cool colors, complementary color pairs.
 Week 8Visual communication and visual perception in visual arts, the ways of obtaining certainity in compositions, obtaining certainity by the way of symmetry in compositions. Practice.

 Week 11Processing the subject of repetition from design elements. Application.
 Week 12The subject of harmony and contrast from design principles. Application.
