The aim of the course:
To be able to define the daily life and material culture tools of the Ottoman society in the historical process, to understand the phases it has gone through in the process, to present general evaluations on the elements that show continuity and change.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Understands the importance of daily life practices and material cultural tools in social life. Evaluates the emergence and scope of research in this field.7,81

Contents of the Course
The birth and research areas of daily life and material culture studies, the elements of Ottoman daily life and the world of material culture reflecting it will be evaluated by considering social dynamics. Within the scope of daily life and material culture elements; the neighbourhood structure that constitutes the field of daily life, the legal system that regulates the relations of people with each other, the religious life of each nation, production and trade relations, education, kitchen, shelter, clothing, health, communication and entertainment will be discussed. Each subject to be discussed within the scope of the course will be examined together with the process of formation-development-development.
