The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to teach the characteristics of Turkish literature developing in Anatolia in XIII-XIVth centuries, to know the important persons and to read the texts.

Contents of the Course
A Brief Overview of Turkish Literature Before the Adoption of Islam; The First Works Produced in the New Cultural and Literary Environment Emerging with the Turks' Acceptance of Islam; The Formation of Turkish Literature in Anatolia and Its First Poets in the 13th Century; Old Turkish Literature in the 14th Century; Characteristics of 14th-Century Turkish Literature, Its Prominent Representatives, and the Analysis of Sample Poetic and Prose Texts from Their Works: Yunus Emre, Şeyyad Hamza, Kadı Burhaneddin, Hoca Mesud, Ahmedî, Nesimî; Reading and Analytical Studies on Prose Texts from the 13th and 14th Centuries.
