The aim of the course:
The evaluation of the situation needed urgent intervention and the intervention is organized in the right way .
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Defines first aid
LO - 2 : Evaluate situations that required urgent intervention.
LO - 3 : Checks principles of first aid .
LO - 4 : Determine priorities of emergency .
LO - 5 : Determine the number of people needing emergency intervention . In cases where more than one victim , decides who should be the first responders.
LO - 6 : Check the victim 's physical and mental condition .
LO - 7 : Classify steps of first aid in case of burns and frostbite .
LO - 8 : Classify steps of first aid in cases of bleeding .
LO - 9 : Fracture and sprain intervention methods in the diagnosis .
LO - 10 : Poisoning can apply first aid steps .
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
The structure of the human body and functioning, first aid definition , importance, priorities and basic applications, evaluation of the accident environment , the sick and wounded transport , airway obstruction, coma artificial respiration , CPR , first aid for bleeding , shock, heat stroke, freezing, seizure , bitten broken first aid bandages and splints, legislation relating to first aid training .
