The aim of the course:
The aim of course is to introduce in manufacturing and description of particleboard to candidates of Forest Products Engineer. However It has to provide to have a through knowledge of raw material, machine and method in usage fields of industry.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Define and explain particleboard productions, material properties and characteristics, raw material types, machines, productions parameters4,5,6,71,3,6
LO - 2 : Describe production process, physical, chemical and mechanical properties, investigate relevant material properties and characteristics,4,5,6,71,3,6
LO - 3 : Solve the quality problems using solutions techniques such as production methods, mixing raw materials, chipping drying, blending and pressing methods4,5,6,71,6
LO - 4 : Solve manufacturing problems in particleboard products line and present the outcome of the model to the expert, select appropriate specialized processes,4,5,6,71,6
LO - 5 : Analyze relate them to the real problem and filter the consequences of each parameters such as raw materials, production factors to management, Demonstrate a knowledge of the basic technologies used to manufacture particleboard4,5,6,71,6
LO - 6 : Analyses similar products for ideas and possible solutions, consider effect of production parameters, choose appropriate production techniques, they will be able to assessments all productions line4,5,6,71,3,6

Contents of the Course
Definition and history, raw materials, lignocellulosic materials, adhesives, preservatives, particleboard production technology, storage, chipping, drying, screening, bonding methods, forming, pressing, sizing, classification, surface coating, particleboard manufacturing systems, properties of particleboard, OSB, Wafer board, Cementboard and werzalits, factors affecting the physical, mechanical, chemical and technological properties of panels.
