Database Management systems (DBMS) ; Fundamentals, DBMS architecture and DBMS functions. Database schema and instance. Data structures and file structures; sequential and random access file structures. Indexed file structures. Data models; Conceptual data models, implementation (logical) and Physical data models. Entity-Relationship model. Entity, attribute, relationship concepts. Database Design; Conceptual design with Entity-Relationship model. Relational data model. Database design with relational model. Relational algebra and SQL. Project; Database design and application development in Microsoft Access DBMS. |
