The aim of the course:
To inform students about issues such as powers affecting the earth, gravity field of the earth, height systems and reference surface of for heights.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : learn basic concepts such as gravitational, potential and gravity and they will assimilate importance of physical geodesy in geodesy.21,
LO - 2 : understand earth gravity field and impotance in geodesy.21,
LO - 3 : understand level surfaces and their roles in geodesy.21,
LO - 4 : learn height concepts , types and how obtained the heights.21,
LO - 5 : have knowledgeable about geoid and mean earth ellipsoid.21,

Contents of the Course
Gravitational and potential theory. Earth gravity field. Gravity and level surfaces. Standart gravity field and level ellipsoid. Gravimetric methods. Height concepts and heights typs. Astro-geodetic methods. To determine geoid and mean earth ellipsoid.
