The aim of the course:
To provide the professional background to solve basic problems of geodetic datum, 3D coordinate system and ellipsoid geodetics.

Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : cognize the reason to use rotational ellipsoid instead of Geoid as a Earth's shape for calculations and properties of ellipsoid geometry.21,
LO - 2 : Geodetic Datum, 3D and geographic coordinates can be defined and transformations can be made between them.46,
LO - 3 : Understand the basic parameters of the ellipsoid, parameters depending on latitude, length (arc) calculation and area calculation in the ellipsoid26,
LO - 4 : know geodetic curve, its importance and the necessity to reduction of normal section observation to geodetic curve..51,
LO - 5 : Ellipsoid geodesic problems solutions and comparison21,
LO - 6 : Will have knowledge and skills in Qibla determination and application calculations56,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome
