The aim of the course:
Gaining basic knowledge and skills about "scientific research" and "ethics in scientific processes" to students in post graduate education.
 
Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Describe the concepts of scientific research and scientific ethics
PO - 2 : Explain the relationship between scientific research methods and ethical awareness.
PO - 3 : Plan a scientific research according to ethical rules and evaluate ethics? contribution to the research.
PO - 4 : Understand the importance of ethical values in scientific research.
PO - 5 : Evaluate the findings related to the level of originality and similarity in scientific researches
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Basic concepts (science, research, scientific knowledge, ethics and morality), Science philosophy and history, Scientific research (definition, process, methods, etc.) Qualitative research (features, approaches, process, research problem, sample, data collection, , etc.), Ethics, Social sciences and ethics, Academic ethics, Research ethics, Publication ethics, Regulations related to the scientific research and publication ethics, Originality and similarity report in thesis studies.
