Karadeniz Technical University Graduate School of Natural & Applied Sciences ,Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies Master Program was founded in 07.09.2002
QUALIFICATION AWARDED  
The students who have successfully completed a minimum of 21 local credits (equivalant to 60 ECTS credits) from thought courses delivered within the graduate programme of the department and in related fields, achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and prepared and successfully defended a thesis are given Master's Degree in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies

OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
Computer Education and Instructional Technologies have a 2 year education with new approaches at teacher education and education. Aim of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies department is to prepare students following current technologies about instructional Technologies, and applying them to learning environment, using different type of assessments methods, arranging teaching activities, using different learning methods and strategies to education, supporting other teachers using computer and instructional Technologies,
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
The degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed at least 21 credits from the courses in the curriculum, with a CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00.
KTU Graduate Education Regulations
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
Each course is assessed via a midterm exam, a second mid-term exam composed of quizzes, homeworks and assignments, and a final end-of-term exam, with contributions of 30%, 20% and 50% respectively. In order to be successful students need to achieve CC as a final grade from each of the registered course.

Graduates from of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies department can work at private and special schools at Ministry of Education as teacher, technology consultant, exam assessment expert. Graduates are also work universities at related programmes. Graduates can work these areas: Information System Manager, Education Consultant, Instructional Technology Expert, Academician at information technology and Education field, Multinmedia and graphics designer

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : 
There are three classrooms, 1 computer lab with 61 computers, 1 student computer lab with 41 computers, 1 network lab with 21 computer and related devices, 1 technology class equipped with smart board, document camera, LCD TV and 1 smart class in the department.
