| Engineering Technology Program have been opened on 25.12.2009 with the decision of 228 number codes of Karadeniz Technical University. The program have began studenrs receiving year of 2010 for education. The quota of 50 students from the program until the end of 2016 73 technicians graduated from the Engineering Technology Program. |

| QUALIFICATION AWARDED |
|
Prior Bachelor's degree license on the area of Construction Technology is given the students completed courses (overall 120 ECTS) with largely 2 mark reference in highest grade of 4.
Students must also complete their apprenticeship. The certificate degree given is match fifth level of education in as much as European Qualifiedness Frame. |

| OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME |
|
| Construction technology program is a prior education program focus on building and using every kind of structure used by people on daily life. Basic principles of mathematics and physics are teached in this program after than general static, structural static, structural materials, mechanic of materials, reinforced concrete and steel structure, hydraulic, transportation and geotechnical courses are given. Main purpose of the program is educated technicians have enough knowledge and skillfull enable to follow science and technology and able to transfer the his/her knowledge to practice. SAP2000, IDESTATIC and AUTOCAD courses are also given in this program. The students graduated Construction Technology program have enough knowledge and skillful capable to civil and official building sector and private engineering and architecture office. |

| RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING |
|
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.
In this Directive,
- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.
Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar.
Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently. |

2. Average of marks of the all course in program must be 2 reference in highest grade of 4
3. Training period of 60 days must be completed |

| EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS |
|
| The students? midterm exam, final work (projects, seminars, quizzes, homework or a second mid-term exam) and are subject to the final exam. The mid-term exam, if any, mid-term and final exam is 50% of 50% of the work has contributed. All exams are graded out of 100 points is considered absolute. Final exam, students are required to obtain at least 40 points. Final notes converted into letter grades relative grade system. AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) that the students are considered successful one. Students at the end of each semester, the semester's courses that they have failed in the examination, they may take the makeup exam. |

The students graduated Construction Technology program able to work civil and official building sector and private engineering and architecture office generally.
Construction technician can work as a technique personal the project level and building level of the buildings for example dams, roads, pavements, house, bridges, water networks etc, materials testing laboratory and institution of controlling of construction. |

| DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : |

| Construction Technology Department have training class, laboratory, computer laboratory including computer software (SAP2000, IDESTATIC, AUTOCAD) related purpose of the program of department. It is possible to do basic experimental testing related with soil, construction materials and concrete technology at the laboratory of department. |
