The electronic communications technology program has started to education in 2005 and accepts 80 students every year.

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - Graduated students of relevant departments of vocational high schools can enroll without examination. The other students can enroll with Say-1 points of OSS.
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
The sector of electronic communication technology needs highly qualified and analytically thinkable technical person. We aimed to graduate persons that meets all the demands of the sector.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
The students are required to have passed a grade of at least DC all the courses in a curriculum, at least 2.0 through 4.0, and have achieved a weighted average of 40 days is to be completed compulsory internship.
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
Chapter, exam and Final exam are applied. Mid-determine the final grade of 50% and 50% of end-examination.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
Students who successfully complete the program with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00, who also successfully complete 40 working days the vocational internship, are awarded an Associate Degree in this progamme
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
The graduates of this program can be employed in telecommunications sector, energy production and distribution companies, hospitals, municipalities, TV-radio broadcasting institutions, electronic equipment maintenance workshops, the automotive maintenance services, airports, sea ports, shipyards, etc.
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
Graduates of this program can have a bachelor's degree if they success vertical transition examination of OSYM. Graduates of this program can transfer to Computer and Control Education, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Education, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronic Education, Electronic and Computer Education, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Education, Industrial Technology Education, Energy, Education, Physics, Aviation Electricity and Electronics, Control Education, Meteorological Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Telecommunication Teaching.

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES : 
This program has an electronic laboratory equipped with several test, measurement and training devices. The students have possibility to work for their own projects by using laboratory facilities. The school has 2 computer laboratory, wireless internet and library for the students. A tennis court, a volleyball and basketball court, a football field is ready for the students. Every semestre a lot symposiums are made in our campus to increase intellectual capacities of the students. The students also have ability to use school facilities to made their own activities.
