ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - Students have a right to register in according to the Vocational High- Scool Diploma or High School Diploma and the result of the Central Placement Exam done by Students Selection and Placement Centre(OSYM). A sudent has being started to be educated in domestic or foreign equivalent program may apply for the inside transfer.
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
Main objective of the department is to provide qualified economists for positions both in public and private sectors. In order to succeed in this department, students should have the ability of analytical thinking.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
The students are required to have passed all courses in the curriculum with a grade of at least DC form the have achieved a cumulative gross point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and 60 days internship to be done
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
The students get midterm exam, final work (projects, seminars, quizzes, homework or a second mid-term exam) and are subject to the final exam. The mid-term exam, if any, mid-term and final exam is 50% of 50% of the work has contributed. At final exam, students are required to obtain at least 40 points. Final notes converted into letter grades relative grade system. Students who get (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) grades are considered successful. At the end of each semester,students may take the makeup exam for the lessons which they have failed.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
Students are to take all the courses required for graduation within the legal period and to complete the program with at least 2.00 Cumulative Grade Point Average( GPA) provided that they are successful at these courses and to have completed the total of 30 working days internship. Students can also take the particular part of the failed courses in the Summer School.
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
After graduation students are working as a enterpreneur besides employee. The students, which are graduated in our department, are taking place and working in foreign trade companies, customs, banking and etc.. fields.
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
Students have opportunity to pass the related programs of economic and administrative sciences faculty by the means of graduate transfer exam
